Promotion Criteria
In order to be eligible for promotion, every student must meet the following criteria:
1. Receive pass grades in 9 or more classes.
2. Demonstrate social maturity.
3. Must have satisfactory attendance.
4. Must have satisfactory citizenship.
5. Must have satisfactory scores on the achievement tests.
A student WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to participate in the 8th grade promotional ceremony and the end of the year promotional activities if
1. Receive 4 or more Final Fs.
2. Receive 4 or more Final Us.
3. Does not clear all student accounts, which include money for lost textbooks, library books, locks, athletic
uniforms, etc.
4. The Principal and Promotional Committee have the discretion to review 8th grade behavior and exclude any student from graduation.
If a student fails 4 or more classes the student may be retained and must attend summer school.
For 8th Grade: If a student receives 4 or more final Us in citizenship and is academically eligible to the 9th grade, the student may not participate in promotional related activities.
